In 1985, Johnson & Johnson established the first joint venture in China-Xi'an Janssen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Since then, Johnson & Johnson established a number of subsidiaries in China in 1988, 1992, 1994 and 1995, including Shanghai Johnson & Johnson Co., Ltd., Johnson & Johnson (China) Co., Ltd., Johnson & Johnson (Shanghai) Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., etc. In 2006, Johnson & Johnson established Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd. and Johnson & Johnson (Suzhou) Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. in China.
